HPCT JTF 2018 TROUPE AUDITIONS

High Point Community Theatre is thrilled to announce its participation in the 2018 Junior Theater Festival and you are invited to audition to be part of this incredible musical theater opportunity! 

WHAT IS JTF? 

The Junior Theater Festival is a spectacular annual national event that is all about bringing students together to celebrate the joy of musical theater in a BIG way! This will be HPCT's first year participating in JTF. The 2018 Festival dates are January 12-15, 2018. We will be performing SHREK JR. 

HPCT will take 25 students ages 10-18 (as of January 12, 2018) to JTF and it will be a fabulous opportunity! Rehearsals will be on Fridays, Saturdays and/or Sundays mid-September through mid-January. 

AUDITION INFORMATION

Auditions for HPCT's Troupe will be Monday, July 24 from 7:00-10:00 PM at our rehearsal space at Centennial Station (121 S. Centennial Street, High Point). STUDENTS MUST COMPLETE THE ONLINE REGISTRATION FORM IN ORDER TO AUDITION. Once the form is submitted, you will receive an email confirming your audition time slot. Please be prepared to sing 16-32 bars of a musical theater song. An accompanist will be provided. A CD is acceptable, but no a cappella please. Dress to dance (jazz shoes, please). Bring a resume. If you have not worked with with HPCT within the last two years, please bring a recommendation letter specifically addressing character, work ethic and dependability in relation to the performing arts. This letter can come from a past production team member (director, music director, choreographer) or arts instructor (drama teacher, music instructor or dance instructor). 

JTF INFORMATIONAL MEETING (optional)

Are you interested in JTF, but aren't sure if it's right for your child? Join us for an informal informational meeting on Sunday, July 9 at 4:00pm in HPCT's rehearsal space at Centennial Station. The HPCT JTF Troupe's Artistic Team Courtney Lowe (Director/Music Director) and Kristi Post (Choreographer) will be there to answer your questions. We will also have a panel of parents and students that have participated in the Junior Theater Festival in the past. The meeting should last no more than an hour.
