Ages 16+
Please prepare a 30-60 second, memorized musical selection in the style of the show. An accompanist will be available so please provide your own sheet music in the correct key. A sound system will be available for those using a track. A capella auditions are strongly discouraged. A cold read from the script will be part of your audition.

If you would like to be considered for Sister Mary Leo, you will need to prepare a dance combination (you should prepare the provided dance combination in advance of your audition). DANCE COMBINATION If you can tap, please be prepared to provide two 8-counts of tap and your favorite time step.

We encourage you to bring your completed audition form, conflict calendar, and consent form to the audition.

Video auditions must be submitted to hpct.info@gmail.com by 7:00pm, Monday, January 2, 2023. Videos should include a 30-60 second vocal audition with accompaniment, the provided dance combination (if auditioning for Sister Mary Leo or tapping), and a brief comedic monologue. The completed audition form, conflict calendar, and consent form must be included in your email.

Winner of four Outer Critics Circle Awards, including Best Off-Broadway Musical, Nunsense is an over-the-top, utterly hilarious international phenomenon starring five nuns who decide to hold a fundraiser after their cook, Sister Julia (Child of God), inadvertently poisons 52 sisters. With the remaining sisters in need of funds for the burial, the intrepid five take over the school gymnasium to hold a variety show to help their dearly departed find a final resting spot.
Runtime is approximately 2 hours including intermission.
Contains some mild adult themes.

Sister Mary Regina, Mother Superior (Reverend Mother)

A feisty Sophie Tucker-type who can’t resist the spotlight.

The second in command, she is always competing with the Mother Superior.

A streetwise tough character from Brooklyn. A constant source of aggravation for the Mother Superior.

This nun lost her memory after a crucifix fell on her head. She is very sweet.
