Based on the popular Disney Channel Original Movies, Disney's Descendants: The Musical is a brand-new musical jam-packed with comedy, adventure, Disney characters, and hit songs from the films!
Imprisoned on the Isle of the Lost – home of the most infamous villains who ever lived – the teenaged children of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Jafar, and Cruella De Vil have never ventured off the island… until now. When the four troublemakers are sent to attend prep school alongside the children of beloved Disney heroes, they have a difficult choice to make: should they follow in their parents’ wicked footsteps or learn to be good?
For your audition:
Prepare a 30-60 second memorized song that shows off your vocal range as well as your ability to act while singing. Be sure it is something you enjoy singing and make it fun! You will need to bring an accompaniment track (karaoke tracks to a lot of songs can be found on YouTube). A Bluetooth speaker will be provided. A cappella auditions are permitted but not preferred.
Prepare the choreo audition.
Bring the completed audition form, conflict calendar, and consent form to auditions. Audition forms require a parent/guardian signature.
Once you’ve auditioned with your song, we will have you read part of the script. This is your chance to show off your acting skills and make strong choices through reading. Through hearing you read lines from the show, we will get to see how you interpret characters and how you bring emotion to the lines! There’s no right or wrong way to interpret lines in an audition, so go for it!
Video auditions must be submitted to hpct.info@gmail.com by 7:00 pm, Friday, September 9, 2022. Videos should include a 30-60 second vocal audition with accompaniment and dance combination. Completed audition form and conflict calendar must be included in your email.
Cast/parent meeting is on September 13 at 6:00 pm with a music rehearsal following the meeting. Rehearsals begin September 13 and will be Mondays, Tuesdays, & Thursdays from 6:00-9:00 pm. Rehearsals will take place at Wesley Memorial (1225 Chestnut Dr, High Point, NC 27262). Be prepared to list all conflicts between September 13-November 20. Participation in load-in and strike is mandatory.

Mal - Our hero and Maleficent’s daughter. Under her hardened, sarcastic exterior, she has a sense of justice and a heart of gold.
